Call for composers of classical music to be part of the "Contemporary Readings" with the Chamber Orchestra of the Municipal de Santiago and its chief conductor, Alejandra Urrutia.

This is a unique opportunity to meet new composers who sometimes do not find opportunities to have their works played and listened to. On this occasion we will have two open rehearsals - "Contemporary Readings" - with the Santiago Municipal Chamber Orchestra and its chief conductor, Alejandra Urrutia. During these two open rehearsals, composers will be able to listen to their works, work directly with the musicians of the orchestra and its conductor, make changes to the score, receive suggestions from the musicians and eventually make a personal audiovisual record.

Ten pieces will be selected and rehearsed in the "Contemporary Readings" on Wednesday 21 August and Monday 26 August 2024 from 10.00-13.00 hours. Five of these pieces will be chosen for the final concert on Wednesday 28 August at 7 p.m. in the Sala Arrau of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago.

The chosen pieces will be performed by the Chamber Orchestra of the Municipal de Santiago during the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

Para quienes queden seleccionad@s:

• Quedarán seleccionadas sólo 10 obras.

• Las compositoras y compositores podrán ser parte de los ensayos que tomarán lugar el miércoles 21 y lunes 26 de agosto del 2024.

• De las 10 obras la Orquesta de Cámara del Municipal de Santiago junto a su directora titular Alejandra Urrutia, elegirán 5 obras con la cual se realizará un ensayo general el miércoles 28 de agosto en la mañana y en la tarde el concierto final.

• Las compositoras y compositores podrán grabar los ensayos y se les entregará un audio del concierto final.
